Agency Engagement

Many people when I introduce myself ask how to engage with creative agency and what are the benefits of working with a agency vs. individual freelancer. The project widely defer and there is no single answer. In some scenarios company needs nothing more then single freelance artist, where in majority of the cases projects are complex and require whole team of people with a different focuses and expertise to achieve an optimal results. In my practice what starts as simple website redesign, it ends up being complete brand refresh, product optimization, brand positioning and digital strategies and often refreshing print collateral. Additionally there are many different agencies other and everyone should find its own fit and comfort level. UX Design in a Nutshell

There seems to be a lot of confusion about what UX design really is. For one, a lot of people seem to make a mistake that UX is the same as UI. UI stands for user interface which are the elements that users interact with to use a website or app. UX on the other hand, stands for user experience and deals with how users react and respond to the system that is being presented to them. What makes UX complex it is a gigantic umbrella subject that branches into many sub topics. For example, UX design will involve, UI design, information architecture, usability, web design, content strategy, website/app functionality, and much more. It’s akin to the topic of business which has many sub topics underneath such as marketing, accounting, branding, etc. UX is also not about appearance. New TLD Registration Problems

Recently I tried registering some domain names with a number of new gTLDs and encounter some of the very annoying and rather disappointing experiences that, in consumer mind can encourage concern of ethics and practices these Registry companies are running. But most importantly I think it will effect long term adoption of these new TLDs. These encounters I experienced and documented with couple different domain name registration service providers and couple different TLD Registries that are owned by different holding groups. I’ll try avoiding mentioning the names at this point as I believe that would be irrelevant to the point I’m trying to make here. The domain name that appears to be available, by looking at the Who Is registry and that have never been registered before, returned back couple minutes after my initial attempt with a message such as: This name is reserved by the Registry in accordance with…
